Hall I th Wood blooms at community event

We’ve just held another community event, this time with Hall I th Wood Environment Group. It was fantastic to see so many residents turn out for our ‘Hall I th Wood in Bloom’ event on the Pimlott/Pixmore land area of the neighbourhood.

Visitors spent the afternoon taking part in a number of activities, with the headlining event seeing youngsters take part in a colouring competition to design the best hanging basket. Free hanging baskets and plants were also given out to encourage more people to get planting.

The Hall I th Wood Environment Group received funding from Bolton Community and Voluntary Services (CVS) to run planting and hanging basket workshops throughout the afternoon.

Other activities included face painting and a bouncy castle, as well as community group stalls including the Lancashire Wildlife trust, Streetwise Soccer Skills and a CVS health workshop focusing on breast cancer.

As well as the extensive list of fun activities on offer, visitors also benefitted from the information on offer through our many stalls. Thankfully the weather held off and a good time was had by all. Thank to everyone who lent their time and support on the day, and well done to all of our competition winners!
